“Weathering the storm” has long been a phrase used to describe surviving a difficult challenge in life. Challenges come in all forms and can be physical, emotional, relational, or spiritual. But it’s equally true that storms are always a part of life. We are either heading into, passing through or coming out of one kind of storm or another. Often times, we are battling a combination of storms occurring at the same time.
Without help, these storms threaten to sink us. Storms of life are often unavoidable, but with Christ, they are always survivable and are often used by God to strengthen His children.
At TwelveStone Health Partners, we are proud to have Christ at the center of all we do. We know that many of the people we encounter are going through their own storms, and we know that having Christ in our corner helps us to provide the best possible support to our patients.
In his younger years, a former President was an avid seaman. When questioned about the adversities that he faced later in life, he simply replied, “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.” It is interesting that Jesus never avoided life’s storms. He either slept peacefully through them, walked on top of them or just ordered them to cease! Regardless, He always brings His followers through their storms to a better place…that is a promise that is always true.

Though we can feel lonely and incredibly vulnerable in our storms, Jesus promised, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee,” -Hebrews 13:5

Sharing our burdens and asking for help are both spiritual and advisable. We are blessed to be a team who prays for and with our patients and one another.
